Admissions Process
At Axis Behavioral Health, admissions is where we start getting to know you. Every step helps us understand what is going on, match you with the right level of outpatient care, and build a plan that fits your life in Mount Pleasant and southeastern Wisconsin. We keep things simple, answer your questions honestly, and stay with you until you feel ready to decide.
Our process follows a few clear stages so you get the right support from day one. Each stage helps our team see the full picture, from your mental health to your substance use to your schedule, so your care is ready when you are.
How Admissions Works at Axis
Reach Out for a Confidential Conversation
It all starts with a phone call or a message through our form. A member of our admissions team will ask a few questions about what you, or someone you care about, has been dealing with lately. There is no script and no pressure. Your answers help us see which kind of outpatient care makes sense. We can also go over insurance, program times, and start dates, so you know what comes next.
Complete a Free Clinical Assessment
Next, you meet with a licensed professional for a full assessment. Together you talk about your mental health history, your substance use, and any medical or personal factors that could affect your care. We also ask about what feels hardest right now and what you want to change. If your needs call for detox or a level of care we do not provide, we tell you plainly and help connect you with a program that does.
Receive a Plan Built Around Your Life
After the assessment, our clinical team creates a plan made for you. It recommends a level of care, whether day treatment, intensive outpatient, or virtual care, plus the therapies most likely to help. When mental health and substance use overlap, both go into the same integrated plan. Your team reviews it with you so it fits your goals, your health, and your responsibilities at work and at home.
Begin Treatment With Ongoing Support
Once your plan is set, we schedule your start date, choose your track and times, and introduce you to your care team. You attend sessions in Mount Pleasant or from home and sleep in your own bed each night. Your progress is reviewed regularly, and your level of care can move up or down as your needs change. The goal is steady support now, and practical skills you can keep using long after treatment.
